World Cement Association Annual Conference 2023 Improving Profitability in a Time of Multiple Global Crises
Where Jumeirah Emirates Towers
Sheikh Zayed Road Dubai , United Arab Emirates
Show on map Event Details The cement industry is facing multiple global crises:
increasing energy prices; supply chain disruption; oversupply and low prices in many markets; and ever-increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions.
Of course, each crisis also offers opportunity to those who are willing to seize them. Customers have new priorities which moves away from commoditized demand driven only by price. Supply chain disruptions also offer the potential for differentiation.
This year WCA's annual conference will focus on how cement companies can improve profitability in the face of these crises. We will look at developments in digital technology, new products and materials and changes in market requirements.
Under the theme of "Improving Profitability in a Time of Multiple Global Crises" we will cover the following topics:
Worldwide industry and market situation New technologies to reduce energy intensity and CO2 emissions Changing customer demands Opportunities to reduce clinker factor in cement and concrete

Event Details Sponsors & Exhibitors Platinum Sponsor Saudi Cement Saudi Cement A regional pioneer in the manufacture and supply of high-quality clinker and cement, Saudi Cement forms a vital link in the industry’s supply chain, having supported many construction projects in the Middle East for more than half a century. Strategically located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an area rich in high-grade raw materials, Saudi Cement is the leader in the Saudi cement industry in terms of efficiency, quality and profitability. Since its establishment in 1955, this joint stock company has been enjoying consistent capacity expansions and profitability. Subsequently added cement dispatch terminal at Bahrain for local market in Bahrain. In 2008, Saudi Cement achieved one of the most important milestones in its history with the installation of two new production lines with a combined capacity of 24,000 tons of clinker per day. This expansion, widely considered to be the world’s largest at that time, increased Saudi Cement’s available capacity to an average of 8 million tons of clinker per year, elevating the Saudi cement industry pioneer to a unique position in terms of economies of scale and production efficiency. Saudi Cement is one of Saudi Arabia’s and the GCC’s most trusted companies. End-users and contractors rely on Saudi Cement’s consistency and quality, utilizing its products for major highways, bridges, airports, seaports, railways, metros, and numerous housing and commercial projects.
