WCA Annual Conference 2024

Thank you for attending the WCA Annual Conference 2024.

Taking place in Nanjing China the WCA Annual Conference 2024 brings together global experts and C-suite level leaders from not only the cement and concrete industry, but industrial decarbonisation, finance and technology.

The cement industry worldwide is experiencing two very different environments. On the one hand in Europe and North America pricing is strong and demand is stable. The industry there is showing that the transition to low carbon can be a profitable one, Cement companies are enjoying positive re-rating by investors.

On the other hand in developing economies, although volumes are declining in some countries and rising in others, the story is largely one of overcapacity and low pricing.

This year we look at the short term issues of improving profitability in these difficult markets as well as the longer term future for the industry as can be seen in the developments in Europe and North America.

It is particularly appropriate for WCA to be holding the conference in China, which faces these problems most acutely, with long term decline in demand as well as fierce competition and low prices. We are delighted to be teaming up with Sinoma International to give delegates a chance to participate in their Green Cement Summit and gain more insight into what is happening in the world's largest cement market.
